About Story Sprouts
Story Sprouts began with our own family.
In 2024, I gave my wife a Mother's Day gift: the first 2 pages of a book I was creating for her and our children about our families' heritage. My wife and I have always loved history and learning about the people who came before us and the choices and circumstances that shaped our family over generations. In our digital world, I wanted to give my wife and children a tangible way to preserve those stories and celebrate the heritage that shaped them.
What began as a simple idea quickly became complicated, time-consuming and prohibitively expensive.
We knew there had to be a better way to take the stories and family history people already have and turn them into something that can be passed down.
That idea became Story Sprouts.
Today, Story Sprouts combines thoughtful storytelling, illustration and design to create one-of-a-kind books that not only make family history approachable for young children, but create a family heirloom that can be handed down for generations to come.

My time as a navy veteran and a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy shaped the way we approach this company with a deep respect for history, an appreciation for the people and experiences that came before us, and an understanding that legacy is built over time.
Those values are woven into the work we do for every family and we treat the stories entrusted to us with care.

There is no generic Story Sprouts story.
Each book begins with your family's memories, stories and history. From there, we shape those pieces into a cohesive narrative and pair them with custom artwork and thoughtful design to create a book that feels distinctly yours.
The finished book is meant to live beyond the bookshelf. It is something to read at bedtime, pull out with grandparents, pass between generations and someday hand to children who have children of their own.
